Typical summer festival, with main procession that takes place August 15 (but, to be honest, the festival starts on August 6).
During the feast of Virgen de la Paloma, particularly in the neighborhoods of La Latina, Lavapiés and Vistillas, you can see peple dancing the traditional schotis following the rhythm of a particular instrument.
The men are dressed with the typical chulapos and women wearing the mantón de Manila. We are in the middle of the summer, that's why you will drink liters of sangria and a lot of sandwiches stuffed with squid, but don't forget the sweets of Madrid, the "barquillos".
The first chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Dove was created in 1796 and, along with the Virgin of Almudena and that of Carmen, is Patron Saint of the city.
